With the objective of promoting curiosity and creativity to break paradigms and create new forms of thought, the meeting of “La Ciudad de las Ideas” (or ‘City of Ideas’) is one of the most notable initiatives in the Spanish-speaking world concerning the integration of science and popular culture.

Organised every year since 2008 in the city of Puebla, Mexico, ‘La Ciudad de las Ideas’ enjoys the participation of some of the most exceptional minds in the scientific and academic world, who, through debates and conferences, reach a public without frontiers. Redes was there to report on it first hand. In this special program, we have been with the following scientists –among others–:

* Louann Brizendine, neuropsychiatrist, director of the Women’s Mood and Hormone Clinic and author of ‘The Female Brain‘ and ‘The Male Brain‘.

* Steven Pinker, Harvard College Professor and Johnstone Family Professor in the Department of Psychology at Harvard University and author of ‘The blank State‘ and ‘The Language Instinct: How the Mind Creates Language‘.

* Lawrence M. Krauss, physicist, science writer and author of ‘The Physics of Star Trek‘.
