We’d all like to have a conversation with our unconscious… or maybe not. Eduardo Punset talks with the Neurobiologist Pierre Magistretti about what is the price of our singularity and our creativity.

Genes and their complicated interaction with the environment are the reason there are no two individuals the same on the planet. This rule is also valid for the brain: the plasticity of our neurones and the role of the unconscious in recreating the experiences lived constitute the pillars of our singularity.

To find out more:

* ‘Biology of Freedom: Neural Plasticity, Experience, and the Unconscious‘, a book that Pierre Magistretti has written with the Psychoanalyst François Ansermet in which, from the advances made in neuroscience, closer work is proposed between this science and psychoanalysis.
* ‘Freud and the Plastic Brain‘, interview with Magistretti in the magazine Reflex.
